Yet another "moment"

  Well, two really.  I love it when Madelyn says cute little things.  I guess because kids don't really think about what they're saying, they just say what they think.  This is probably the reason I enjoy the toddler/ preschool years the most!  Anyway, on to the events!

I pre-ordered Beauty & the Beast way back in August! As soon as I heard it was coming back out, I knew we'd be getting it and I wanted the one that has all three discs.  I didn't dare tell Madelyn it was ordered because I knew she would not understand the waiting process.  Well, the release date was Tuesday and we still hadn't gotten ours in the mail....Not a happy momma!  Thank goodness she's not old enough to realize when things are out yet :) Anyway, we got it in the mail today and I was SO excited (this and Mermaid were my childhood favs).  I came back in and said, "Guess what we have in the mail!!!"  She came running over and as I opened the package and showed her the box, her face lit up and she screamed out the name with the most excited and animated voice ever followed by "wow!"  We then watched it three times IN A ROW!

Later, while I was taking her to potty, she said, " Mommy, you're my favorite!"  hehe so cute!


Isn't it fun hearing what your kids think up and the innocence they have in their little lives!! 

One day, I'm going to start a never ending post that contains all the cute/funny stuff she says and does...Anyway, hope you all have had a great week!

I've said it a thousand times...

My baby isn't a baby anymore. I'm so very proud of her and her achievements, but so very sad that she's growing up.  I've seen her do very "grown up" things before and, of course, raved about it to you guys.  However, I do believe yesterday was the topper.

On days that I wash clothes, we usually have a "lazy" day where we stay in our pjs until I'm finished washing.  So, Madelyn was in her Mermaid gown and one of her dress up tutus.  She came to me while I was busy doing something and said she wanted to get dressed.  I told her to give me a few minutes and that I would go pick out her clothes for the day.  I go back to my chore and she runs off to play...I thought. 

Shortly after, she came running back with a dress in hand that I knew she had managed to pull out of her closet!  I was slightly amused at what she had done and it was only getting better.  She then said, "I dress myself, Mommy." She proceeded to take off her gown, tutu and old panties and, with a little verbal direction from me, she slipped her dress over her head and found the arm holes.  Yes, I know this sounds very simple.  However, to a two year old, this is a work of art!  The dress she had picked out was one that is just a little big on her but I just didn't have the heart to tell her she couldn't wear it when she'd gone through all that trouble.

When she wasn't looking, I walked into her room to scan for disasters she'd made while picking out her dress.  NOTHING.  Her closet was already open, but she had turned the light on all by herself, tugged the dress off the hanger, and opened the only drawer she could reach in search of her panties.  Okay, again, I know this doesn't sound like much to most of you.  In fact, I know it's a little dull and boring.  But to me, it's BIG!  Next thing I know, she'll be doing the dishes and washing the clothes.......Hey, a girl can dream right?!

At the risk of sounding like one of the several thousand people who bug the mess out of us when our babies are just babies,  hold them tight and don't rush things.  They grow up SO fast.

BUGS!!!

  I don't really have a fear of all bugs, I just really don't care for spiders and roaches.  I mean, I do all I possibly can to avoid them at all costs.  The only time I will confront them is when Jeremy is not here to squish their icky guts out with his shoe. Ugh!  Anyway, after this week, I knew I needed to do a special little bug post.

  I was leaving a friend's house Tuesday night along with another friend of mine.  She and I were packing up the car and I was waiting for someone else too pull out of the driveway so that I could help.  I'm standing there, minding my own business, when a freakin roach comes RIGHT at me!  I couldn't go left (car), I couldn't go right (car), the only way to avoid the thing was to go UP! I jumped on top of my friend's cooler.  Yep.  Skirt and all!  I scared the crap out of my friend who then died with laughter when I told her what I screeched and jumped for.  Calling all over dramatic idiots... **Raises Hand**

Now, let me go back in time.

  Let me first say, my child isn't really afraid or bothered by anything.  She can tolerate just about anything except, you guessed it, bugs!  I first noticed this a few months back.  I can't recall the exact details but do remember this being odd because, again, she has no fear.  The point was proven right after her birthday when she was swimming in her pool and screamed bloody murder when she spotted one of those water bugs floating in her water.  Jeremy about flipped!  He had NO IDEA what was wrong with her and I just kinda shrugged it off and giggled. 

Current time.

  Today, takes the cake however.  I had just finished running her bath water and told her she could get in.  I stepped out to grab something in the kitchen and about had a heart attack when I heard her screaming in fear.  Of course, I thought she had turned the hot water on or something, so I RAN.  There she was, standing in our bathroom dripping wet.  She had climbed back out of the tub and was pointing at the wall of the tub.  There it was.  A grand daddy long leg looking thing but smaller  probably more scared of her than she was of him.  She was in hysterics saying "Bug! Bug!  Bug gonna get me!  Get it! Get it momma!"  (Remember how I try to avoid bugs....well ya kinda can't when it involves saving the day in front of your child.)  Ugh! Grab a paper cup, scoop it up, and fold the rim over just hoping that it wouldn't crawl out.  Sadly, I have to admit that I threw the cup into the air tight trash we have instead of opening the door and putting it outside.  Now, I have a trash can I can't even open until Jeremy gets home.  Smart.  When I return to the bathroom, she had already began to put her panties on and was looking at me with eyes of fear.  She said,  "I not get bath.  Bug gonna get me." What do you say to that? So, here I am, sitting next to a still very dirty little girl.  Hopefully this doesn't put some kind of hex on bathtime more than just today...

Ugh! Ick!

Cuteness right out of the baby's mouth

I just LOVE some of the things Madelyn says and how she perceives the world around her.  She's always melting my heart or cracking me up. For example, everytime she sees a baby she stops what she is doing and says "Momma look!  aweeee."  She makes sure she over exagerates the look and the awe.  It is adorable and makes the people with the baby smile everytime.  Lately she's been super adorable and I thought I'd share a few of them.  Here goes:

* She knows that when we visit her Grammie and Papaw that means we are going to Mississippi.  The last visit, we went up to their camp which is on a ski lake and spent the weekend on the boat.  She now associates boats with seeing her grandparents.  So this is what she said. "Momma, I wanna go to Sippie Sippie ride Papaw's boat."

* So these next two are from yesterday while we were at Animal Kingdom.  When we first got there, we made sure to eat lunch.  I passed some grapes to Asher and said "Here you go doodle butt."  She then took the half eaten grape she was knawing on and when to hand it to him and said "Here you go big butt!" hahaha I died :)

* Again, yesterday.  We were on a safari ride looking at all the wild animals.  The driver pointed out some rhinos and one happened to be laying down on his side.  She says, "Momma! Awe! Him fell..."

* You all know I've been running.  Well, Madelyn goes with me and is very involved with my routine.  While we were in line to see the Little Mermaid, I looked down at Madelyn.  She was bent over touching her toes.  Can you believe that baby said she was marching (stretching) ?! Definately a proud moment of mine!  I'm so glad she is immitating something that is a very postive thing for her :)

* Lastly, still running related.  Madelyn knows which shoes are my running shoes and really likes to walk around in them.  She outgrew her tennis shoes this winter and the only other tennis shoe type shoes are keds and twinkle toes.  Neither are very good for her to run in while I walk to cool down (she's tripped and skinned her knees as a result).  I told her we needed to get her some new running shoes.  So, my mom actually bought her a pair of Nikes while we were there this weekend.  While we were waiting to be seated at dinner, Madelyn took off running around the front part of Outback.  I asked her to stop and come back and she replied to me with this: "Momma, I runnin'!  I got my runnin' shoes on!"

Overprotective Mommy Moment

Madelyn woke up yesterday morning with like a thousand little red bumps all over her arms, legs, feet, and a few on her face.  Okay, not really a thousand, but enough for me to worry.  I typically don't worry about rashes but she also typically doesn't get them either.  So I racked my brain for what in the world could have caused these bumps on her and what I have to put on them.  My thoughts were:  Madelyn hadn't gotten attacked by mosquitos since last week (in which case she didn't even have any bumps), she did have a different smoothie than she's used to and in that is raspberries which I don't think she's had (but Jeremy swears she's had them in a yogurt before), she didn't go outside at all the day before,  and  HOLY CRAP!!!! Chicken Pox.

I called my mom to get some advice.  She is a nurse and well, let's face it, most mommies call their mommies when something is wrong with their babies.  It's been a while since she's worked with general patients so she looked some stuff up for me.  Here's the overview.  If it is chicken pox, she would have gotten them two days  ago.  It would take a week for her to not be contageous (not cool), BUT she should also have a low fever.  She told me to go ahead and call the doc.

Called Jeremy.  Told him everything.  He said to go ahead and call the doc.  (He knows me and knows that if I'm truly worried about Madelyn, then it must be severe enough to worry.) 

I called the doc and talked to a nurse. I explained that she has a rash that popped up literally overnight and that it wasn't on her torso and I just needed to know if she was having a reaction or if it were something more serious.  Of course, she had me come in.  Here we go.....me with no makeup, dirty hair, hairy legs and Madelyn with stickers all over her and a nice array of red bumps to accessorize her outfit. 

All I could think about on the way there was that my poor nephew was doomed to have Chicken Pox too since he was with Madelyn for two days straight, and oh my gosh!  My friends are going to KILL me for exposing their children to this junk and oh no.... you've got to be kidding!  This is totally going to mess up our vacation to Disney this weekend!  No way!  If it's chicken pox, Madelyn won't be able to go anywhere, and poor Asher will probably catch it, which will ruin his birthday weekend, and we'll be the cause of a cancelled trip :(    Great.

We entered through the back door at the doctor's office, like lepars, and followed the nurse to the nearest room.  Waited.  Waited.  WAITED. 

Doc came in and took a look.  Did his assessment and came up with his diagnosis.  Wanna know what it was?  You'll get a real kick out of this.  Apparently, while Madelyn was sleeping, a mosquito was trapped in her room and went to town on her.  ALL those bumps were the product of a freakin mosquito.  He explained to he how he came about this conclusion and I was relieved but concerned at the same time.  What the crap do I do now?  Spray her with bug spray every night before she goes to bed? 

Left the doc and called everyone to tell them the news.  I still worried about what others would think when they saw a child with all these bumps all over her.I should have taken a pic of her when the were at the worst to show you guys.  I mean, if I saw a child that looked like that, I'd automatically wonder if it were chicken pox and why the heck this parent has their child in public. 

Anyway, then it hit me.  hahahahahah I REALLY just took my child to the doctor for mosquito bites!  Oh Lord.  I bet he thought I was nuts!  Seriously though, I mean, I would have thought for her to have THAT MANY bites, she would have had to walk into a  swarm of bugs. Oh well. Let's just stash this away for when she's a teenager and needs yet another reason to think I'm totally uncool. 

First Time!

To ride the train/roller coaster and Islands of Adventure of course!  Madelyn has waited for this day for a whole year!  This past Saturday we drove over to Orlando to take the kids to Universal/Islands of Adventure.  Madelyn was SO excited to get to ride this ride for the very first time :) So, of course, I had to document such a special occasion!  Even better, she got to ride in the very front!!! Princess Harley

Here's what happened at my house today!  Harley became the true princess that HE really is!  Madelyn said "Pretty Pretty princess Harley!" 

I also have some killer video footage of the two of the "singing" to Smile by Uncle Kraker but I have NO idea how to upload it.  Hopefully I can figure that out soon!

Melt my heart

Is there anything in the world that could stop you in any given moment and turn your heart into a soft bowl of jello?  Wanna know what mine is?   Well, of course you do! 

A while back, Madelyn came to me and said "Mommy, my bedy (belly) hurts."  With big sad puppy dog eyes that were practically BEGGING me to stop whatever it was I was doing and hold her.  I don't really even think her belly was hurting-- if I remember correctly--she just had to go potty.  Anyway, in that very moment, I did stop whatever it was that I was doing and my voice automatically turned into Nurse Mommy.  You know, that "oh my poor pitiful baby, what do you need to make you feel better" voice.  She pulled her shirt up to show me her belly and I did what any other mommy would have done.  I bent down and rubbed it, said "oh my poor baby," and kissed her tummy.  I swear you would have though I gave her a huge overflowing bowl of ice cream!  She LOVED that I played along with her accusation and gave her that extra special attention. 

Well, obviously this has become our "thing."  Every so often she will come up to me, usually in the worst possible times (while I'm mopping, cooking, etc), and start in with those big sad puppy dog eyes.  Next thing you know, I am on my knees kissing whatever part of her body she says hurts and hugging her real tight.

 The first few times she said it around Jeremy, he got a little worried that something was actually wrong.  I completely forgot to let him in on our little secret... The good news is, I have that wonderful Mommy's intuition.  This means, I actually KNOW when something really is wrong with her and when she's just playing around!

I'm not really sure what it is about this certain thing that she does.  I just know that every single time Madelyn comes to me with this, I could be in the worst mood ever and it wouldn't matter, I melt.

2 yr old check up

This morning was Madelyn's doctor's appointment.  I always dread these because I am a big whimp and HATE shots.  Poor Jeremy has to go with us every visit because I just cannot stand to watch them poke my baby.  Well, good news for me!  She was already up to date on her shots and will not have to have any until she's four!!!!!  Woohoo!  I bet if she knew what that really meant, she'd be excited too. 
   Anyway, today we met with her new doctor (we moved, so we needed one closer).  He seemed very nice and easy going.  Here are Madelyn's measurements:  Height- 34 1/4 inches (50 %), Weight- 25 lbs (25 %), Head circumference- 19 (75 %).  As you can see, my baby girl is growing just fine!  In order to settle a dispute with my mother in law, I asked him when it was that they say you can estimate your child's future height. He said it would have been at 18 months and then you double the height.  So, I'm guestimating that she will be around 5 ft. 4!  Now, back to my mother in law.  She swears up and down that Madelyn will be TALL (like her daughter-Madelyn's aunt).  I told her that I don't think she'll be as short as me (5 ft. 3 1/2 in), but that there is no way she'll be as tall as Jessica.  Well,  according to the doc, these predictions are pretty accurate so I WIN!!  Yes, the constant reminder that Madelyn WILL be tall is a bit annoying. And, although I will love her however she is, and I absolutely cannot change how tall she is, I really don't see myself with such a tall little girl on my hands.
  We are cleared for another year and hopefully (fingers crossed) we won't have to see the doc again until then!  Madelyn is growing well both physically and developmentally!  I'm so proud of my healthy baby girl :)

PRECIOUS!!!!!!

Thanks!  I know :) I mean, really.  How cute are pig tails on a little girl??  I just can't seem to get a good front facing pic of them, but trust me, they are definately MUCH cuter in person!  We gave these cute little piggies a try yesterday and Madelyn loves them!  Of course, I have to use tiny clips to hold up the slacker pieces in the back, but you can't tell too much.  So, today, what did I do?  I dolled her up in one of her cutest Hartstrings outfits, her finest pearl necklace, and these babies!  She was such a little doll!  She was way outdressed for me, so I had to fancy myself up as well :)  We pranced into the mall like we owned the place and the very first thing she did when we met our friends at the play area was show off her new do and necklace.  She is definately my child.  And the best way to top the day off.......Madelyn's very best friend in the whole wide world (get the magnitude here?), Asher, is back!  He is Madelyn's cousin and I swear they love each other so much it's ridiculously cute.  He's the superhero in her eyes and she's his cuter- than- any -other trusty sidekick!

She's growing up!  Sorry about the double post today but I absolutely MUST share this wonderful moment with you. 

I was watching Madelyn play with her babies and cover them up to go night night like she does all the time.  Then, I heard her whispering.  It took a few seconds but I figured out what she was doing.  I asked her "Are you saying your prayers?"  and she smiled REALLY big and said "Yes!"  She then leaned down and kissed each baby on her cheek. 


How amazing is that??  I just love it when she immitates us in the very best ways possible.  This is a proud proud day for me! 

Chain Reaction!

   As you all know, I've started my running program and will be on week three next week!! Yay for us!  It is now a part of our routine and Madelyn looks forward to "running" with her friend Elle!  At the end of the run, Madelyn stretches with me and is so cute doing so.  It is so nice--yet hot-- and we even get to see some dolphins every now and then!  Yesterday, they visited us with a baby dolphin too!  It was a very special birthday present for Madelyn :)  Anyway, it's going really well and I definately recommend this program to anyone who is looking to get started!
   With this new routine, I've tried to keep my meals and snacks a little healthier and in turn, Madelyn's as well.  My lunches have been chicken salad wraps, salads with lots of veggies and chicken, and things in comparison.  I've really been observant of the things I've been eating lately and think there is definately room for improvement.  I'm not really as concerned for myself as I am for Madelyn.
  I noticed this past weekend that Madelyn wasn't really eating the way I'd like her to.  For example, I'd order her mac n cheese (which I know isn't the best either) but as long as someone was sitting right there offering her chips, she's going to take the chips.  I definately noticed that Madelyn is incredibly influenced by what the people around her are eating.  SO, after this past weekend, I will ABSOLUTELY say something to the person who is altering her meals, or remind myself if it happens to be me.  I cannot have Madelyn thinking that it's okay to make a meal out of potato chips.  Now I'm not saying I will get completely healthy and not ever give her "treats" or that she will even have an entire week of balanced meals.  However, I am definately beginning to be more observant of what she puts in her mouth.  I'm not worried about her being obese, I just want her to be given the knowledge and the opportunity to be steered in the right direction and make the right choices for her body.
  We began a few weeks back offering her water before anything else she drinks.  It really helps that her friend Elle drinks tons of water!  She's doing pretty well with it although she still prefers other drinks.  There are times when I only offer water and if she's thirsty enough, she'll drink it.  Her lunches this week have been accompanied by at least one fruit.  This is simple and Madelyn LOVES fruit anyway. 
  Today, I made her a really silly excuse for a bento lunch but it was filled with "good" stuff!  Almonds, celery with peanut butter and raisins, baked chicken, blueberries, carrots and cheese.  I made myself a salad with chicken and carrots, celery, and cheese.  Madelyn chose to eat my salad before her lunch and she ate almost all of my lettuce.  Now, she's snacking on her almonds and carrots.  She hasn't asked me for ONE cookie or her spaghettios.  (By the way, the sodium in one little thing of spaghettios is RIDICULOUS and the fact that I lived off ravioli and ramen noodles in college and didn't get fat amazes me.) She is eating what I've given her and enjoying it. I mean, how easy is it to make her meatballs and spaghetti and it's way better for her. Yes, I will still give her these things sometimes.  No, I don't want to have the child that doesn't know what chocolate tastes like (I love it too much myself). So if you see me giving Madelyn something that isn't the absolute best for her, please don't condemn me.  I just want her to learn that everything is okay in moderation.  I absolutely knew she would eat what I placed in front of her.  Whether it's good for her or not.   So, is it really right for me, or anyone else, to offer her junk just because it's easier?

Happy Birthday Party!!

This past weekend was Madelyn's Party!  She had a great time although we pretty much rushed the actual party so we could get to the beach and relax.  Here are a few pics...

Madelyn's Play House

Yep!  I made that!  ALL BY MYSELF :)

My parents purchased a larger playset for Madelyn earlier this week.  What did I do with one of the boxes the playset came in?  Made her this awesome playhouse.  How cool is it that she has something brand new to play with (and a really awesome playset) that was absolutely FREE!  Paint was left over from our kitchen and Madelyn's bedroom, the door knob was a plastic golf ball, and although I should have been paid for all my physical work....that was free too!  You guys really don't understand how incredibly proud of myself I am.  I think I am going to continue when I have the time and maybe add some curtains for the windows (there's another on the side closest to the door), and I'd love for her to have maybe a small table and chair in there.  How cute will she and her friend be in this?? TOO CUTE!  I absolutely promise there will be more and better pictures to come within the next few days.  I took this picture tonight.  It looks WAY better in person too.   Madelyn LOVES her new playhouse and her playset.  She's a very lucky little girl-- grandparents buy one gift--and she gets two!  Honest....more pics to come!!!

Cookies

Madelyn and I began our very first easter tradition today!  Since she was too little last year to really care, I didn't bother doing any holiday activities with her.  This year, however, has been a blast.  On top of decorating the house, art projects, picking out outfits, and the anticipation of egg hunts, we made our very own cookies!!  Her Grammie bought some Easter cookie cutters for her and so we put them to use by making a cookie for each of our family members (minus Daddy because we plan to do a few with him as well).   Obivously, I can't multi task that much because this time I videoed everything but got very little pictures. 
Anyway, she is getting to be such a smart little girl.  We were able to do a "lesson" in with the cookies on shapes and colors - via cookie cutters,sprinkles,and jelly beans.  She knew all the shapes and most of the colors!  And, although this has nothing to do with this post, she is up to four in counting!  Yay!  I really love getting to do all these "moments" with Madelyn.  I feel like I have been such a visible part of the memories she's making.

To keep my train of thought.

So, this post won't really be one that interests any of you.  BUT, I need somewhere to write down the ideas I have for Madelyn's birthday.  I know, that's what they make notebook paper for, but that tends to get lost around here.  So, please, disregard this post and forgive me for introducing my love for lists so abruptly by actually doing a list. 
Now, I was thinking about doing just a small beach birthday for family on the weekend before and that being it.  I mean, she's turning two, which IS a big deal, but isn't one of those milestone birthdays.  Then, I thought about doing a get together at my house with a few of the ladies and kids from the playgroup on Madelyn's actual birthday but still keeping it simple.  NOW, I'm wondering if I should do a small party on the weekend for family at the beach and then do a fiesta themed party at the house on her birthday (Madelyn is a cinco de mayo baby).  However, I don't want to hurt my in law's feelings by doing more of a party on a day they can't be there.  So, should I just do a "big" party on the weekend --fiesta themed--and suck it up?? 
I also know that Madelyn is in love with Dora now--which I guess I could actually incorporate that since it kinda goes with the theme....But would she really care if I just left Dora out and kept it all fiesta because I'm worrying that I'd get too complex with both things in one....

Okay, so anyway, this is what I'm thinking for a fiesta:

FOOD: mini tacos,seven layer dip/chips, non alcoholic margaritas (and if on the weekend, maybe the real thing for adults),quesidillas w/ sour creme and quacamole, fruit/veggies, cheese, cake, cookies, chili pepper shaped gummies.... ***I need some more kid friendly foods-Any suggestions??

DECORATIONS:  mini maraca key chains,chili paper confetti,sombrero straws,fiesta bubbles,donkey pinata table decorations, donkey pinata,chili pepper picks for fruit & cheese, children's sombreros....Anything else I should ABSOLUTELY have?

ENTERTAINMENT: pinata, hula hoops, I would LOVE an inflatable water slide if I could find one for a decent price, What else??

Okay, so obviously I need some help on a lot of decisions.  What party idea should I go with?  And what are some suggestions if I go with one of these?

And honestly, I may possibly change my mind AGAIN.  So, next week, this may not even apply anymore.  Thanks for letting me waste a little internet space!

How can I get on to her?

Seriously, sometimes it's just too hard to correct a wrong.  Especially when it's so cute and you really can't help but laugh.  So, what did I do?  I took pictures!  THEN told her not to do it again.  We'll see how that goes. 

Madelyn was being really quiet in her playroom yesterday.  Quiet usually means trouble around here.  So, I peeked in to see what she was doing.  At that very moment, Madelyn poured a play kitchen cup full of dog bowl water onto Bruce's head (our great dane).  I have no idea what she thought she was doing.  Either she thought he was thirsty, or that he needed a bath.  Whatever the case was, I was pretty stunned and told her to stop playing in the water and had her help me clean the mess.  (I was too in the moment to think to snap a pic of this.) So, fast forward to when Jeremy gets home.  He and I are standing in the kitchen talking when I hear "here you go barley."  (Barley is how Madelyn says Harley-our pug's name.)  I don't know what made me think to look in on her, but I did.  This is the first pic I saw.

Yep, she's back at the dog bowls.

(Nevermind the terrible temporary dog beds--theirs had had it.)

So, I sit and watch her for just a few minutes to see exactly what it was she was doing.  She had gotten the play spoon from her kitchen, and was "feeding" Harley a spoonful at a time.  She'd get a scoop, take it to him, dump it, and say "here you go Barley."  She also very well knew she was doing something wrong, because when she saw me walk by, she stopped what she was doing, smiled, and blew me two kisses.  It really was cute and I even called Jeremy in there to watch when she started back up--she thought I had walked away.  However, when I actually went into the room, I was not so pleased.  Here's a visual for you...

Oh yeah, look closely.  There is water in their food.  That little stinker used the cup I previously wrote about to add a little water.  Maybe she felt Harley could eat it better if it was softened a little.  Or, maybe she was just experimenting?

See that cup?  That's the one that she used for all that water in the dog food.  She MUST have been there a while.  The spoon in the dog bowl is obviously the one she used to feed Harley with too.

All this said, I did tell her not to play in the water anymore and that her bubbas could get their own food/water.  I told her that if she did it again, I'd be very upset. Well, she obviously got it because she is sitting beside me looking at the pictures saying "I not." I am assuming she's telling me that she either isn't supposed to do this, or that she didn't do this again.  Oh well, some things are just easier to laugh off.  Here's a final pic of a very happy and probably full Harley.

We've set out decorations, bought the outfits, and now we're beginning to do the projects!  Here's Madelyn's very first Easter project.  She knew exactly what it was when I drew it out.  "Egg," she said.  I let her use the markers and color away.  When she was done, a little glitter and crinkle cut paper, and voila!

Madelyn totally gets the concept of makeup.  However, she does not know when enough is enough.  I gave her my old eye shadow while I was putting makeup on this morning, and this is the outcome.  A very B-E-A utiful little girl.  She's absolutely checking herself out in the second picture and thinks that she is a masterpiece.  (And check out those puckered lips in the first pic--haha.)
